Summer wedding season is in full swing! Blue skies, lush green scenery, and of course the gorgeous weather! While summer is undeniably a beautiful time to get married, keep in mind that outdoor ceremonies and receptions that take place in direct sunlight can be very uncomfortable for guests. Providing your guests with one (or more) of these simple gifts can keep them happy and focused on your special day. These gifts can double as wedding favors and make great DIY projects.

Water Bottles

During most ceremonies, there is a water station set up for guests. Many guests do not want to get up in the middle of the ceremony and disturb the guests around them. Make your guests more comfortable by having water bottles served to them halfway through the ceremony. This can be done by a wait staff or by ushers or special guests. Personalize the water bottles with your name and date to make a great wedding favor!

Umbrellas/Parasols

This gift is very useful but on the pricier end, especially if you want to personalize it or get better quality products. These can be used through the ceremony or other outdoor events that may be in the sun such as cocktail hour or waiting for the Bharat. Parasols make a great wedding favor because they are very practical. Beware of leaving a container of parasols for guests to grab themselves, some guests like them so much they may take a couple extra leaving other guests without one!

Fans

Make this a DIY project by purchasing generic fans and having your bridesmaids come over and make personalized tags for each fan. Or you can put a picture and a date right on the fan. Many people include the program on the fan.

Keeping guests comfortable is always an important thing to keep in mind. Predicting the temperature and amount of sunlight your guests will be exposed to will direct you in picking out the perfect type of gift you can give your guests to help them enjoy your special day!
