The Day of the Diva International Women’s Expo & Bridal Showplace was a grand event on Sunday, September 20, 2009 at the Heritage Museum of Orange County.  We had a raffle in which the winner (Congratulations Shiva Chaturveda!) won a Completely Elegant Coordination Package for only $500 (valued at $1500).  Planning Elegance set-up the entire South Asian section of the show which the following exhibitors participated:

AAcreation Photography
Enchanted Carriages
Classic Candy Buffet
Crown Make-up
Payal Photo Video
Petalos di Pauli
Sheer Romance
Rishthey: The South Asian Wedding Guide
Cookie Lee
Ajalon Printing
Dhamaka Productions

The Planning Elegance team worked hard all day not only setting-up and manning our own space at the show, but welcoming vendors, setting up equipment, working on layouts, and of course greeting guests.  The weather was beautiful and although it was a little warm, there was a nice breeze throughout the day.  It was nice to have a bridal show outside where we could also picture  wedding taking place.

Party Rental King provided all of the show’s tables, chairs, beautiful linens, umbrellas, and other rentals.  Their friendly staff can provide clients with anything for their wedding or special event.  Anything from themed props to bars to white dance floors to chivari chairs – Party Rental King will have it in their huge warehouse and showroom!

To prepare for a special part of the show, Jesse the make-up artist from Crown Make-up prepared our model bride for an Indian Mock-baraat ceremony.  Jesse does all types of bridal, fashion, and TV make-up.  He has a specialty in South Asian brides where he does an amzing job accentuating a bride’s eyes.  Crown Make-up does both traditional make-up and airbrush make-up as well.

As part of the Indian mock-Baraat Ceremony, the groom arrived on a horse with a live Dhol Player, or traditional Indian drummer in front of him.  Him arrived to the Mandap grandly and elegantly on his beautifully decorated horse to await his gorgeous bride.  His bride arrived on a Cleopatra-style doli and the garland exchange took place as they both met at the mandap.  The beautiful garlands were provided by Art with Nature’s floral designer Kim Sanders.

Guests (and vendors) enjoyed 2 sweet displays from Classic Candy Buffet.  One display was in the entrance and it was Latino-inspired with classical candies from Mexico.  This buffet was brightly colored to match the South Asian theme and contained beautifully bright gummies and other fun, yet elegant candies gorgeously displayed in glass jars with fancy fabric draped around them.

Planning Elegance would like to thank all the people that helped put this fun and colorful event together.  We’d alos like to thanks the guests that came out to visit the show and hope they enjoyed the fun and beautiful displays, ideas, and entertainment.  Lastly, we’d like to thank AAcreation Photography for taking beautiful photos throughout the entire event.  Visit AAcreation.com for more pictures, pose ideas, and to check out their amazing photography.
