The Special Event 2009

The Special Event Conference and Trade Show was held in beautiful San Diego, CA this year in January. There were over 300 exhibitors in attendance with some gorgeous and elaborate set-ups of the latest trends in the special event industry.
Several companies sponsored The Special Event, one of which was The Cookie Chew, also based out of San Diego. The Cookie Chew offers delectible sweets that will tickle your taste buds and leave you wondering about the texture of these unique cookies. They are fancy sweets that can be given as gifts to a loved one, presented as wedding or elegant party favors, served as dessert treats to guests, or anything else an extraordinary cookie can do!

Among the hundreds of exhibitors, some really stood out to me as great trends that can lead into 2009 and become special event and wedding classic touches. Among the products that stood out, I noticed the delectable Bedazzle My BonBons. This is a product like you won’t even believe! They are fancy treats that come in 24 different colors and 6 mouth-watering flavors. They look glittery and metallic, but they are completely edible and beautiful. I passed by the beautiful Snow Masters booth where there was fake, non-toxic snow blowing in the San Diego Convention Center…the same snow that blows at Disneyland and Disneyworld every year in the winter. Then my eyes were captivated by De Leon Productions by their stilt walker and gymnast that performed in a small space on a suspended ring. I think this is really going to be in for weddings and special events. De Leon can work with anyone’s budget to provide great professional entertainers for any special event.

The Special Event was great. With all the exhibitors, new ideas, decor, and unique products, I was like a kid in a candy store! If you missed out, I compiled a little video below that container my all-time favorite exhibitor from The Special Event. The Unexpected Boys had a wonderful performance! It was so entertaining, their voices were great, I was tapping my feet the entire time. You have to see this group, they were absolutely amazing and have a unique style of performing and they take you back to The Four Seasons. After you get through the slide show in the video below, there’s a short clip of Unexpected Boys’ performance from The Special Event.
