So once you walk down the aisle, you stop at a spot that is typically a stage or raised area where your soon-to-be hubby is already waiting for you. The officiant does his thing at the alter, you two say your vows and you exchange rings all on this stage-like area where your closest friends and family are starring at for a while. Let’s sprouse up the area around where you’re getting married! Many cultures have traditional decor that they use to get married under, but it’s becoming very popular to have something in weddings even if it’s not your tradition. This makes sense because most of you romantic pictures during the ceremony are taken with you under this decor and it’s what everyone is starring at during your ceremony.
Mandap
This is a traditional, covered stage-like area for many South Asian cultures. Indian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan, and Bengoli weddings all use the mandap as a decorative piece of staging to have their matrimonial ceremony under. There are so many styles of mandaps and couples can choose whether they would like to go with more traditional or modern looks. There can be many colors involved and flowers can be used to decorate the structure to the taste of the bride and groom.
Chuppah
Chuppahs are widely-used in weddings in America, but they are canopies that originated from Jewish culture. They are meant to symbolize the home the couple will build together. It also represents the presence of God over the covenant of marriage. Besides it’s traditional meaning, it’s uses in weddings are beautiful and there are many different styles and types of chuppahs to choose from.
Backdrop
A backdrop is a great and less-inexpensive way tomake your wedding stage look more intersting. It’s especially perfect for indoor weddings in which you are getting married in front of a blank wall or something. This will make the pictures look great and it gives the guests something nice to look at a well. You can have something simple and sheer or have the backdrop match your wedding colors or go with a particular theme that you may have in mind.
Regardless of what you choose to sprouse up your wedding stage, make sure that it’s your style and that it’s something you can enjoy when you look at your wedding photos for years to come. There are some wonderful vendors in Southern California that can cater to your specific taste, this is something that shouldn’t be a DIY project. Enjoy your wedding stage!
