How to Choose a Honeymoon Destination

The honeymoon is a once in a lifetime special vacation that newlyweds go on shortly after their wedding. It is often known as the most expensive vacation the couple takes in their lives. There are all-inclusive resorts specially for honeymooners and there are also adventurous locations for all types of tourists. What’s your type and how do you choose where to go? Information and reviews on the world’s best honeymoon destinations can be found all over the web and we’ve put together some determining factors for you.
Weather
This is the most important thing you want to access prior to choosing your honeymoon destination. If you are going to an island or tropical place, make sure it won’t be raining and overcast your whole trip. If you are traveling to a desert-like paradise, perhaps you don’t want to be there during an extreme heat stroke. Different countries and parts of the world have different summers, rainy seasons, hurricanes, snow storms, etc. Do your research to assure that you and your beau will have a great time and be comfortable.
Type of Destination
This might be the hardest thing to agree on if you and your spouse have differing interests. Some couples are adventurous and love to go on safaris, skiing, or hikes. Those couples have to go to destinations that offer their special activity. The most popular honeymoon type is tropical paradise. These are vacations where there are typically couples lying all over the beach getting tan and snorkeling in shallow, clear blue waters. Some couples like to go the common tourist route and hit up the spots to see like world-famous museums, world wonders, or foreign cultures. Once you and your man agree on a type of destination, the rest is easier.
The Hard Working Couple
Often times when both the bride and groom have demanding full-time jobs, the wedding/honeymoon leave they get from work will be the longest vacation their boss will ever allow them. Take advantage of this and visit a multiple islands, countries, sites, whatever. This ensures that you won’t get bored in one place for too long and that you’re putting your vacation time to good use. It is also recommended that the hard working couple pay for an all-inclusive honeymoon. This way you have less to plan on your own if your time prior to this vacation is limited.
When choosing a destination for your honeymoon, don’t be timid. Do extensive research online to find the best weather, great activities, beautiful location, and take advantage of all your resources. Search every affordable option and ask around for friends’ opinions. Need some help starting out? Here are some of the most popular honeymoon destinations.

I love your post!! You have got it spot on. The most important thing when choosing your honeymoon destination is working out your requirements. I also find all inclusive places to be a great option as it is so easy to spend over your budget once away and celebrating!
Well done!

Great advice. Especially the part about weather. I had a friend go to Jamaica on his honeymoon. The entire time they were there it rained.

I couldnt come across to much alternative information on this article, so it was good to find this one. I will probably end up being returning to look at some other articles that you have another time.

Before I went on honeymoon I did loads of research. I was a real bridezilla! I also contacted a few travel agents. I found the travel agents helped for a couple of reasons, firstly they had some good in depth knowledge of the places I was looking at.
Secondly (and more importantly!) they managed to stop any disagreements between myself and my husband to be about where to go. We simply said “I want to do these things and my husband wants to do these other things so please can you find a honeymoon that fits both criteria!” Hey presto there is someone else to find the impossible honeymoon!
We used this company:-

But there are plenty of other ones out there. My friend who was getting married at the same time used a company in the North east who were very good as well. Can’t remember their name though which doesn’t help! Anyway just do a search in google for honeymoon advice or something similar and loads of companies will pop up.
Certainly recommend getting help though as it can be a nightmare if you do it yourself and it all goes wrong. There would be no worse way to start your honeymoon than with a blazing row between the two of you on who should have booked a better hotel or who recommended a country that is in the middle of wet season!

Excellent article. I agree that the type of destination is something that needs to be 100% agreed on.
